Success at the Y'Oscars!
16 Oct 2006

Young people working on the Experience in Mind project have won awards; which were presented at a local ceremony on Friday.

The event run by Hove YMCA celebrates achievements of young people who have turned their lives around and have made a contribution to their communities.

The Brighton and Hove Youth Achievement Awards, dubbed the Y’Oscars, were awarded to young people for their commitment and work within the project.

The Experience in Mind Project is a partnership between Mind in Brighton and Hove and the Hove YMCA. The young people involved in the project are developing training for professionals. The training will help professionals to understand the difficulties which young people can face when experiencing mental health issues. The training is being both designed and delivered by young people who have had their own personal experience of mental health issues.

The project is currently looking for more young people to get involved. For more information about the project please go to www.mindcharity.co.uk/servicesexperience.asp or contact Enrico Dummett on 01273 889 292 or enrico.dummett@hoveymca.org.uk
