Service users could have a real impact on the way social care is delivered. A review of community mental health services is being carried out by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) and the Health Care Commission (HCC). They would like to meet with service users to find out how they can improve their services.
There will be 3 focus groups, consisting of 6 people each, on the following dates:
7 December, 2006: 9.30am – 10.30am
7 December, 2006: 11.00am – 12noon
8 December, 2006: 1.00pm – 3.00pm
There will be payment of £6 per hour. All expenses will be paid, such as bus fares.
The CSCI and HCC have told us that they have four key aims that guide them in all their work:
- to put the people who use social care first;
- to ensure that people who use social care can trust them to act in their interests at all times;
- to be guided by what social care users tell them, and support them to live independent lives with dignity; and
- to speak and act in a way that makes sense, and respects rights and choices.
