A new e-newsletter from National Mind’s Legal Unit
Mind’s Legal Unit is a small team of lawyers who provide information about mental health and related law to people to people experiencing mental distress, families, carers, advocates and other professionals.
The unit responds to letter and emails requesting legal advice and operates a confidential Legal Advice Line. The unit is also about to launch a free e-newsletter.
Legal mind will provide up to date information about developments in mental health law and policy in a summarised form that is easily accessible. It will contain news, short notes of any new important legal cases and details of legal courses run by Mind. Legal Mind will be available free of charge but only circulated to people who wish to receive it.
Legal Mind is part of National Mind’s attempts to help mental health service users, their family members and carers in asserting their rights. It is therefore aimed at Mental Health Advocates and lawyers who assist service users and at busy mental health professionals. However, anyone is welcome to subscribe.
