We offer the following services in some parts or all of West Sussex:
Mind in Brighton and Hove is already well-known for providing a quality-marked advice and information service to residents of Brighton and Hove, and we plan to use this experience to transform the limited service already provided to the Crawley and Horsham area into an extensive service for the whole of West Sussex.
Crawley and Horsham Mind first established this popular service in 2002 and it has been providing adult education-like classes for mental health service users and their carers ever since. Thanks to a partnership with West Sussex County Council we have now started work on extending Learning Initiatives to other parts of West Sussex, beginning with the Mid Sussex area where more modern day services have long been in demand.
Our new peer mentoring initiative is based on the previously successful mentoring service, which itself evolved from a befriending scheme run by Crawley and Horsham Mind. This service matches volunteers, who usually have experience of mental health problems themselves, with people in need of support to move forward with their life goals. Currently the service is restricted to Horsham and Crawley, but we are working to expand coverage to other areas of West Sussex in the future.
