East Brighton Mental Health Project Service User

The East Brighton Mental Health Project is part of the The Healthy Living Centre which co-ordinates a range of health related activities and intiatives. The centre aims to promote health in an innovative way and provides information and resources for people living in the East Brighton area.

The Mental Health project works to address the mental health issues identified by local residents by working in partnership with residents and local service providers to develop innovative and sustainable ways to promote mental health.

Examples of the projects work includes:
mental health promotion work
mental health awareness and training
events and activities i.e. Mental Health Roadshows
support for residents in developing activities and groups
advice and information on mental health issues for residents and workers
signposting and referrals to other services and support
support whilst waiting for mental health services

The project also chairs the East Brighton Mental Health Action Group which is made up of local residents and representatives from local service providers who have an interest in promoting mental health in the East Brighton Area.

Project Funding
The East Brighton Mental Health Project is funded by The Primary Care Trust and The Big Lottery Fund. The project is a partnership between Mind in Brighton and Hove and The Healthy Living Centre.
