Inquiring Minds “I’d always been taught that I had to sort out my own problems – if the outreach worker hadn’t come up to me… I’d have never asked for help. I find it easier to accept help now.”
Advice and Information Service User
People with mental health needs experience unique types of obstacles in obtaining specialist mental health advice and information and may find mainstream advisory services too daunting or difficult to use. Feedback tells us that access to information about rights, services and mental health issues can increase peoples’ sense of empowerment and support paths to recovery – reducing exclusion and isolation. The Inquiring Minds Project offers 4 main services:
1. Advice and Information Sessions:
2. Information Training Sessions:
3. Mental Health Awareness Training:
4. Links with the Service User Involvement Project: Service Opening Hours We currently offer Advice and Information appointments at Brighton Community Mental Health Centre, Buckingham Road. Appointment times vary so call for details. We will be developing additional outreach sessions soon so watch this space! Please click here for contact details. Project Funding
