Advice and Information

People with mental health needs experience unique obstacles in obtaining specialist mental health advice and information. They may find mainstream advisory services too daunting or difficult to use.

Feedback tells us that access to information about rights, services and mental health issues can increase peoples’ sense of empowerment and support paths to recovery – reducing exclusion and isolation.

The Advice and Information Services can:
Provide information and advice on mental health services, support groups, activities, diagnoses, treatment options and legal rights
Offer support with accessing support services, groups and activities, by making enquiries, form filling, letter writing and booking first appointments
Help to get information about and understand any treatment being offered and given
Provide support with making telephone calls or writing letters to services
Contact services on your behalf, at your request
Help with any other questions that you have about mental health

Service Opening Hours

We offer telephone Advice and Information on 01273 66 69 63. We aim to respond to all calls within 7 days. We offer Advice and Information appointments in our central office or at Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project. Appointment times vary, so call for details.
