Coronavirus and your Wellbeing

You might be currently worried about coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) and how it could affect your life. However there is a lot of information available on how to look after yourself and where you can get help and support.

You can get information from the NHS on their website at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ which contains updated information both on how you look after your general health and what actions to take if you have concerns you may have been affected. Your local G.P. surgery will also have information on their website. For more detailed information Public Health England also has  information available on their website www.gov.uk/coronavirus

Mind  www.mind.org.uk/information-support/coronavirus/ has information and advice on how to look after your mental health, such as: mask anxiety, managing feelings about lockdown easing, your rights to social care, coronavirus and work, and many others.

The UK government’s advice on the mental health and wellbeing aspects of coronavirus are available here: www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-for-the-public-on-mental-health-and-wellbeing/guidance-for-the-public-on-the-mental-health-and-wellbeing-aspects-of-coronavirus-covid-19

If you’re a parent or carer, please see the latest government guidance about how you can support children and young people’s mental health:
COVID-19: guidance on supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing

Coronavirus: Wellbeing Information & Tips Edition 8

Please see the eighth edition of our Wellbeing Information and Tips Sheet here.

One of the ways that MiBH marked Mental Health Awareness week was to set up the hashtags #KindnessMattersBrightonHove and #KindnessMattersHastings on Twitter and ask people to share how they had experienced kindness.  We were really pleased to see so many individuals and a wide range of local organisations engage and contribute to this.  We wanted to share this with you, so edition 8 of our Wellbeing Info and Tips is a summary of some of these examples.  We hope you enjoy reading these and that they inspire you to show kindness to others and to yourself, improving your wellbeing this week.

If you haven’t already been in touch, we would love to hear what acts of kindness you’ve shown to others recently or to yourself. Please e-mail us at info@mindcharity.co.uk. If you are happy for us to share these anonymously via our website and social media, please let us know in the e-mail.
