West Sussex Peer Mentoring Volunteers

Crawley & Horsham Peer Mentoring Service is always keen to hear from people who would like to train as peer mentors.

NB: As this is a peer support service, we are looking for volunteers who live in Crawley or Horsham or the immediate area.

This service supports people with mental health needs to explore what they wish to achieve in their lives, providing practical and emotional support to help them work toward their goals. Typical activities could include helping people build confidence going out and developing their social skills, help to identify and try local groups or in their area, or providing help to start volunteering or learning.

Local volunteers are trained as mentors and are also encouraged to reflect on their own recovery and how their experiences can positively influence the support they give to mentees. Each mentor/mentee match is time-focused with the aim to reach agreed goals. Areas covered are Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex so we are looking for volunteers who live in these or nearby areas.

We offer quality training and supervision and this is an opportunity to join a well-established and enthusiastic team offering a valuable service.
