NHS Mental Health Services
The Assertive Outreach Team provide a flexible service working with people who have continuing mental health problems and may have previously found it difficult to stay in touch with other mental health teams.
Within Brighton and Hove the adult community mental health service for adults including those over 65 is provided by the Assessment and Treatment Service (ATS). The service works with people with more complex mental health needs or those whose mental health is having a significant impact on their daily life. The ATS has been designed around having a citywide adult mental health service that specifically supports people in Brighton and Hove. Brighton & Hove Reading Well Books on Prescription scheme is designed to support people with mild to moderate mental health conditions. A core list of self-help books have been tested and recommended by organisations such as the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Royal College of GPs and are available to borrow from local libraries.

Brighton & Hove Wellbeing Service can provide access to talking therapies, a guided self-help service, and a community support service, which can offer talking therapies and courses to promote wellbeing. This is an NHS service, and is free of charge.
Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service also offers SilverCloud – free online supported CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), tailored to your specific needs. These programmes have demonstrated high improvement rates for depression, anxiety and stress.Find out more »
Brunswick Ward is an inpatient ward at Millview Hospital in Hove run by the Sussex Partnership Trust. Brunswick Ward provides intensive inpatient assessment and treatment for people with dementia who are experiencing behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia which cannot be managed in the community.Find out more »

East Brighton Mental Health Centre provides mental health services for working age adults living in the community. There are 4 mental health teams at EBCMHC – Assertive Outreach Team, East Recovery Team, East Access Team and the Day Hospital.Find out more »
