The Reading Well agency have extended the books on prescription service to include a list of books about managing/living with long-term health conditions.
The extended list includes titles on conditions such as: Pain, Fatigue, and Mental Health, amongst others.
Reading Well Books on Prescription is a service that provides self-help books for managing common conditions including stress, depression, anxiety and dementia. The books are recommended by health experts as well as people with experience of the condition. Recommended titles and leaflets containing book lists and other sources of help are available from libraries.
As well as books for adults, there is also a Self-Help collection recommended for young people, aged between 13-18, which includes graphic novels and non-fiction. There is also a list of Mood Boosting titles for both adults and children and a list of books focusing on dementia.
