Alcohol Awareness Week 7th-13th July

Alcohol Awareness Week is managed and hosted by Alcohol Change UK. This year's campaign takes place from 7th -13th July 2025 on the theme of ‘Work and Alcohol’.

The aim is to open a conversation about the relationship between alcohol and work to help us understand it better, share some helpful advice on the signs to watch out for, in ourselves and others, and some changes we can make to improve our health.

The campaign also provides information on creating healthier workplaces in all types of industries and sectors – from offices to factories, shift-work to front-line services – that are fully inclusive and work for everyone, including those choosing to drink less or not at all - whether for health, religious, or personal reasons. A free guide is downloadable from the website Celebrate Alcohol Awareness Week in your organisation | Alcohol Change UK

Work-stress can affect us if we’re employed, freelancing, volunteering, or studying at university. Many of us never stop to think about the impact of the work we do, on why we drink. Moving in and out of work whether planned or unplanned can affect us and the way we drink - from unemployment to retirement and parental leave to caring responsibilities. These transitions in life can feel monumental and can sometimes leave us feeling unsettled and vulnerable.

You can attend a free Alcohol Awareness Week Workshops: everything you wanted to know about alcohol (but didn't know who to ask)  from @changegrowlive and Lets Talk Alcohol! #AlcoholAwarenessWeek
