Charity Fraud Awareness Week 8th -12th December
Mind in Brighton and Hove is supporting Charity Fraud Awareness Week. Now in its 10th year the week brings together charities, NGOs, not-for-profits, representative bodies, and other sector stakeholders to share knowledge, expertise, and best practice in the fight against fraud. We’re proud to stand with the sector in supporting Charity Fraud Awareness Week 2025.
Why is it important?
Although there is a lot of cyber security advice available these days, many people find it hard to know where to start. The importance of cyber security to everyone is not always clear and the guidance available does not always explain the technical aspects in ways that are accessible.
All charities, NGOs and not-for-profits are susceptible to fraud and can be targeted. Those providing services and supporting local communities may be especially vulnerable to criminals attempting to exploit current national and global crises to carry out fraud and cybercrime.
MiBH is getting involved in this year’s Charity Fraud Awareness Week again this year by helping to promote and raise aware of the importance of the issue and ensuring all our staff and volunteers undertake appropriate training/refresher training to help keep our systems and information safer.
