Mind in Brighton and Hove is recruiting for 2 advocacy positions:

  • Brighton and Hove – Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) and Community Mental Health Advocate

  • West Sussex - Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)

Both roles are 28 hours per week

Salary: £26,861 per annum (pro rata). Actual salary £21,488

Mind in Brighton and Hove empowers and supports people who have experience of mental health issues in Sussex. Our Advocacy Services take action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests, and obtain services they need.

Independent Mental Health Advocacy works within the framework of the Mental Health Act 1983, to support people to understand their rights under the Act and participate in decisions about their care and treatment.

Community Advocacy has responsibility for the provision of independent, professional mental health advocacy within the community.

These posts require an understanding of advocacy, experience of managing a client case load, excellent communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a range of professionals, whilst retaining independence.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including full induction, nationally accredited advocacy qualification and 29 days’ leave (pro rata) per year excluding bank holidays, 3% pension contribution and access to a 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme.
