World Mental Health Day 10th October

World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10 October.

Poor mental health is not inevitable, and World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for us all to talk about mental health and consider how, together, we can help everyone have better mental health.

This year’s theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies. The theme highlights the importance of people being able to protect their mental health whatever they're going through, because everyone deserves good mental health. For more information on the theme and its importance in today’s world , please go to www.who.int/campaigns/world-mental-health-day/2025

National Mind is running a campaign based on the message that mental health matters every day on the days when everything happens and the days when nothing happens. When life is busy and unpredictable and when it’s quiet and ordinary too. Mental health doesn’t take a day off. Not on World Mental Health Day and not on any other day of the year.

World Mental Health Day is a great opportunity for us to come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that is matter.

Talking is good for your mental health. And talking about mental health is important. But starting a conversation isn’t always easy. The Mental Health Advice Team will be spending the day at Jubilee Library on the 10th October promoting the themes of World Mental Health Day and gathering pledges on a Wellbeing Tree. They will also be giving out wellbeing information and resources and tips on starting a conversation.
