SPFT Carers & Clinicians Conference Sharing Information, Sharing Responsibility

SPFT Carers & Clinicians Conference - Sharing Information, Sharing Responsibility

8th June - 10:00 am - 15:15 pm

About the conference

The conference focuses on one of the most challenging areas of practice: decisions about what information can and should be shared between clinicians, patients, and family & friend carers. It will explore how these decisions are made in real situations, including where things go wrong, and the impact this can have on relationships between clinicians, patients, and family & friend carers. Together, it will identify practical ways to strengthen trust, communication, and working together.

The online conference will address these issues and focus on the realities of making decisions in practice, including where things go wrong, supporting clinicians and family & friend carers to identify one or two practical changes they can test in similar situations.

Who it’s for:

For family & friend carers

The session will create space to share experiences of information sharing, understand the constraints clinicians work within, and contribute to shaping more open and effective ways of working together.

For clinicians

The session will provide space to reflect on real scenarios, hear how decisions around information sharing are understood when things go wrong, and support you to approach these situations with greater clarity and confidence.
