Volunteers Week 1st– 8th June 2026
Our volunteers give so much to our organisation, without them we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. Thank you to each and every one of you.
Whilst we appreciate the time and commitment of all our volunteers provide all year around Volunteers’ Week is an annual UK-wide campaign which provides an extra opportunity to celebrate and recognise the contributions of our volunteers. Launched over 40 years, it provides organisations and communities like ours a platform to thank current and past volunteers for their invaluable efforts.
We will be holding get togethers for all our volunteers to thank them personally and through our social media channels. Last year our volunteers contributed over 800 hours of their time in many ways including peer mentoring, delivering wellbeing activities, fundraising, governance, research and recruitment.
‘For me, the best thing about volunteering with Mind in Brighton and Hove has been feeling part of a brilliant team of staff and volunteers who are working to provide essential support to local people with mental health difficulties. The support for volunteers is amazing. I feel I am contributing as well as learning new things all the time. It is a very important part of my life’
‘Helping at outreach events has been my favourite part of the role as I've really valued the chance to connect face to face with members of the public, be a listening ear, provide a friendly presence and allow them to access information and support they may find helpful. The depth of conversations I've had with people over the years has been really moving and to witness many people leaving the events feeling uplifted and a little more hopeful has been amazing to witness’
So to all our volunteers we wish to say a big thank you for all your valuable time, skills and enthusiasm.
