Men’s Health in November
The month of November celebrates both Movember and International Men’s Days, both aimed at raising awareness of Men’s Health Inequalities and Men’s Mental Health.
Dr Zach Seidler, global director of men’s health research at Movember writes: ‘Each year we witness the toll of silent suffering, and it’s obvious that something needs to change. We all have a role to play in preventing suicide, and it starts with recognising the signs of poor mental health in those around us. It's often small changes in behaviour that can signal someone in real distress. Reaching out and checking in, can make all the difference, in fact, it might just save their life.” You can read more here: How to spot the signs of poor mental health - Movember
Movember invite anyone who can to ‘grow a mo’ during November, as a visible symbol of support for men’s health and to help tackle stigma around men’s mental health. You can read more about Movember and find information on men’s health issues here.
At Mind in Brighton and Hove we are providing a free workshop on Men’s Mental Health on 25th November at 1pm. This session will explore how we can challenge stigma and have supportive conversations around men’s mental health. You can register for our Men’s Mental Health workshop here.
